Entry Requirements
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China. Applicants should generally be between the ages of 18 and 25 (calculated from September 1, 2007), in good physical and mental health. They must have a full-time high school diploma or higher education, with excellent academic performance and character. Applicants should be friendly toward China, with no criminal record.
2. According to the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China and relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, if both parents or one parent is a Chinese citizen who has settled abroad, and the applicant holds foreign nationality at birth, the applicant does not have Chinese nationality. As an international student applicant, they must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate before April 30, 2021, and have a record of residing abroad for at least two years between April 30, 2021, and April 30, 2025 (nine months of actual residence abroad in one year can be counted as one year, based on entry and exit stamps).
3. According to the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, for residents of mainland China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macau Special Administrative Region, and Taiwan who have immigrated and obtained foreign nationality, as international student applicants, they must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate before April 30, 2021, and provide proof of renunciation of Chinese nationality. Additionally, they must have a record of residing abroad for at least two years between April 30, 2021, and April 30, 2025 (nine months of actual residence abroad in one year can be counted as one year, based on entry and exit stamps).
Note: Whether the applicant holds both foreign nationality and Chinese nationality will be determined by the nationality recognition conclusion from the exit and entry management department of the Chinese public security authority. If the applicant possesses Chinese nationality during the application, admission process, or after enrollment, the applicant’s qualifications for application, admission, enrollment, or student status will be revoked.

Program Description
Undergraduate students are admitted based on their departmental preferences, and no specific major is assigned at the time of enrollment. Generally, students begin selecting their major and undergo division of studies after the second year. Applicants only need to fill in the college during the application process, without specifying a particular major.

Applicants must upload a self-introduction video of no more than three minutes in length, the content of which must include three parts: a self-introduction (in Chinese); a statement of your interest to study in China, your desire to apply to PKU and which major you’d like to apply to (in English); and your application and registration commitment statement (reading the provided text word for word). The video must be in mp4 format, no larger than 50MB in size. You may decrease the file size if necessary by using video format conversion software (by adjusting the resolution, bit rate, etc.)
