Chinese language is crucial in the 21st century as more and more people are accepting Chinese as the next global language. And there is no perfect place for me to learn Chinese other than Peking University. Being the first national institute for higher education in China, I fully believe that Peking University is already world-class university in this era. Peking University would not only provide me with excellent language program but also with various other opportunities to explore myself. Famous for its rich history and rigorous learning programs, Peking University offers studies that meet the standards of world’s top universities. Not only the studies are world class, Peking University is also known for its beautiful gardens and pagodas surrounding the campus. As I’m personally interested in history, Peking University having a rich historical context, I would be extremely delighted to attend this university. The fact that the campus for Peking University has served as the garden of the royal family during the Ming and Qing dynasty is what makes it special from other universities. As Peking University is the face of China’s advancements in the modern world, I would also like to walk alongside the forefront of China.

The reasons as to why I am choosing to study the Chinese language at Peking University is due first and foremost for the universities historical significance in China and the world. While several universities and institutions in China offer similar study opportunities, I believe studying within a prestigious university would provide me an experience like no other. Additionally, I believe studying at this university would not only provide me with a strong foundation of the Chinese language but would also provide me with an authentic Chinese cultural experience. Program Description
1. Program Introduction
Editor Notes: There are 3 levels of this program, students can be divided into suitable classes according to their Chinese proficiency.
Chinese Language Studies Program is open to international students who love Chinese Language and Chinese culture. Students learn Chinese at the PKU School of Chinese as a Second Language as full-time general visiting students.
Instruction is divided into elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. Students are arranged into suitable classes according to the results of the Chinese placement test at the beginning of the semester. Class size is approximately fifteen students per class. Normally class hours are from Monday to Friday, four academic hours per day, twenty hours per week.
Besides Chinese language studies in the classroom, Peking University also offers program students a series of activities to experience Chinese culture and get a deeper understanding of China.
Upon completion of the program students will receive a program certificate and an official transcript. The program is normally one semester long, but students could applyfor extending their study period to at most four semesters in accumulation.
2. Extracurricular Activities

3. Introduction of Peking University
